Amy Khoshbin is a Brooklyn based Multimedia Artist from Texas with a background in Film, New Media, and Music. Her videos, performances, and wearable technologies have been exhibited at both national and international art/film festivals, galleries, museums, and performance spaces. Among some of the artists Amy has worked with are Laurie Anderson, Robert Wilson, Karen Finley, poets Anne Carson and Bob Currie, pianist Eleonor Sandresky, and Cory Arcangel. Semiotech, her ongoing collaboration with Sound Artist Michael Clemow explores and creates performance technology both for use in their musical performance group And Um Yeah, as well as for others.

Works will include: Ryan Anthony Francis - 6 etudes (2008) and 8 preludes titled "Wind-Up Bird Preludes" (2005-10) / Vivian Fung - Glimpses (2006) for prepared piano / Andy Akiho - Vick(i/y) (2008) for prepared piano. This program features, as the title literally suggests, works for unprepared and prepared piano...all written within the past 6 years. This program will also give you a glimpse of my upcoming album on tzadik with composer Ryan Anthony Francis. It took me a long time to record it, but now that it's done, i can't wait for everyone to hear it. Vivian is a fellow Canadian like myself. I first encountered her piece Glimpses at a concert in 2009. Personally fascinated with exploring different sounds and timbres on/inside/&/around the piano, Vivian's piece extends Cage's world of preparations that one would hear in his prepared piano music such as Sonatas and Interludes and The Perilous Night and fuses it with her own passion with Balinese Gamelan. If you were at (le)Poisson Rouge on January 4th for TwoSense (Ashley Bathgate, cello; Lisa Moore, piano), then you would have seen Andy Akiho in action, performing on Steel Pans. I first met Andy back in 2007 and we became fast friends. We were working on Jacob Druckman's Come Round and during the rehearsal process, Andy was in awe at how I jumped around the piano, muting and plucking strings. He immediately wanted to write me a piece which utilizes this technique. I premiered this piece in November 2008 at The Stone and it's with great pleasure to be able to perform this piece there again....only this time, I'm not being handed the last page of the score an hour before the show!

A special protégé of the legendary Itzhak Perlman, the dynamic 22-year-old violin virtuoso Hahn-Bin embodies the renaissance of classical music, fusing his highly evocative repertoire with pop performance art. Born in Seoul, Hahn-Bin made his international debut at age twelve at the 42nd Grammy Awards in a performance honoring Isaac Stern. Following a decade under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman at The Juilliard School, Hahn-Bin made his critically-acclaimed debut in 2009 at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall as the recipient of the Peter Marino Concert Prize, following his First Prize win at the prestigious Young Concert Artists International Auditions. This season, Hahn-Bin returns to Carnegie Hall, performing the world premiere of "Still Life" for Violin and Orchestra, written by Christopher Cerrone and commissioned for Hahn-Bin by the New York Youth Symphony. The tour of his new recital project "The Five Poisons" will include performances in New York at the Rubin Museum of Art, in Los Angeles at the Hammer Museum, and in Berlin at the Konzerthaus. Hahn-Bin's recent engagements include Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, as well as appearances with the Queensland Orchestra in Australia, and all the major Korean orchestras including the Seoul, Bucheon, and Daejeon Philharmonics, both in Korea and on tour in Japan.

Classical Jam Trio and Special guest, Rubin Kodheli, featured performer and composer in the movie "Precious", join forces in an evening of composed and improvised music including Osvaldo Golijov's tango inspired cello solo, Ômaramor, Hines' Samai'i Shira based on rhythms and melodies with Arabic influences, A.C.T. Amplified Cardbord Tube for solo percussion, Choi's flamenco inspired Madrileño, and Kodheli's Jungle and Nightengale. All four musicians share a conservatory past spanning over ten years of shared performances and musical experiences, culminating in a very special evening of music making.

Gerald Kurdian, performer, songwriter and radio artist lives in Paris. He studied fine arts in Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Paris-Cergy before taking part in the EX.E.R.CE 07 contemporary dance program directed by Mathilde Monnier and Xavier LeRoy at the Centre Choreographique Nationale de Montpellier (CCNM). Since then, he collaborated with Eszter Salamon, Tiago Guedes, Andros Zins-Browne, Daniel Dobbels, Carole Perdereau and the Club des 5 (Mickaël Phelippeau, Virginie Thomas).

Spookyghost is the name given to Gerry Leonards solo recordings and compositions. The name derives from the nickname given by Donal Coghlan (the other half of the duo Hinterland) regarding the ambient nature of Leonard's guitar playing. Leonard grew up in Dublin, Ireland. It rained a lot then. He left school and worked in a recording studio recording and mixing a lot of bands from the local Dublin scene. Highlights were recording a demo with Sinead O'Connor when she was 16 and giving the Edge a ride home in his tiny rusty Morris Minor Car. The Spookyghost record was started in '96 in a tiny apartment in the Lower East Side of New York. The "Studio" (a Mackie 1202 and an Adat) was right beside the bath tub which was right beside the cooker which was right beside the phone. The possibilities seemed endless.

Paul Muldoon was born in 1951 in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, and educated in Armagh and at the Queen's University of Belfast. From 1973 to 1986 he worked in Belfast as a radio and television producer for the British Broadcasting Corporation. Since 1987 he has lived in the United States, where he is now Howard G. B. Clark '21 Professor at Princeton University and Chair of the Peter B. Lewis Center for the Arts. In 2007 he was appointed Poetry Editor of The New Yorker. Between 1999 and 2004 he was Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford, where he is an honorary Fellow of Hertford College. Paul Muldoon's main collections of poetry are New Weather (1973), Mules (1977), Why Brownlee Left (1980), Quoof (1983), Meeting The British (1987), Madoc: A Mystery (1990), The Annals of Chile (1994), Hay (1998), Poems 1968-1998 (2001), Moy Sand and Gravel (2002), Horse Latitudes (2006), and Maggot (2010).

Not only is her work structurally sophisticated and the prose sharp and intelligent, but she’s got her finger smack on the pulse of America: if married heterosexuals begin “coming out” and making news, Homes will have written about it; if the topic of pedophilia is about to sweep the country (as with the many disclosures involving the Catholic Church), Homes will have touched on that ground. School killings . . . ground covered. She’s a quintessentially American writer who claims she doesn’t like to hear people say they “love reading [her] books.” Her goal is to unnerve, dig under the skin, maybe piss you off with her fearless honesty, think, and at the same time make you laugh. Born in Washington D.C., she now lives in New York City.
